I’m writing this review right now with mixed emotions, I don’t know of I’m mad or sad, want to cry or just break everything in my sight….
But before we go there let’s go back to the beginning.
Sansa Stark’s transformation. I was impressed by her. Because the mock trial that Petyr Baelish was under, wasn’t going in his favor. The counselors didn’t believe the suicide theory that Lord Baelish told them. Calling in Sans a made sense, her being the sole witness of the “suicide”. For some reason in my mind I never believed she would betray Baelish. I think she’s feeling a little something for Baelish after the kiss of last episode. The way she was lying was marvelous, it was the work of a professional, it’s like Baelish and Varys trained her. Mixing the truth with the lies. Genius. At the end Lord Baelish was sparred from the jump of the moon door. Again nobody knows exactly what are the plans of Baelish, now we all know that he’s trying to kill Robin, the child not ready to deal with all that. Sansa going down those stairs is looking very much like a grown woman with a touch of malice. Love it. She even resembles Catherine a little bit, to Littlefinger’s pleasure.
Daenerys Stormborn Targaryen. One of the most powerful characters in the show… But also one if the most stubborn, and she can be very stupid at times. When they discovered that Jorah was a spy for King’s Landing, she got really mad……understandable. But the guy was with you through all your problems, he saved you, he’s one of your best advisor and on top of that the guy loves you. She’s right to be mad, but she must not act or take decisions when she’s mad. At some point in the show (last season) I thought maybe Daenerys could be the one who becomes the queen of the seven kingdom. The one to win the Game of Thrones. She has the same characteristic of the Mad King. This must be genetic or something. She’s getting drunk with power. I’m the queen, I have dragons, so shut up. I really think this is going to be her downfall.Alle’re going to the north. To the great wall. Actually there’s not a lot to say, there’s a war coming, a 100 000 men, against 102 crows. It could be a massacre or a remake of the 300 movie. Haha. It should be called 102. Either way I must prepare myself if Jon Snow dies (it’s not a spoiler or anything I don’t read the books). I think the next episode is going to focus on that and GoT episode nines are always a shocker. So brace yourselves episode 9 is coming.
Tyrion Lannister almost-everybody’s-favorite-character’s trial by combat will begin. Oberyn vs The Mountain. The mental breakdown wasn’t far away after the episode. The combat begun and I had the same expression that Jaimie had. Like, hey this guy can fight, he’s actually good, he can win, oooooh he’s winning. But George R.R. Martin is somebody who doesn’t like when things go the way they should go. Oberyn was jumping, spinning, dodging, striking with acrobatic moves. Moving that spear like it was nothing. Piercing the Mountain through the stomach and pinning him down. But that obsession of wanting him to confess of the rape and murder of his sister went too far. When a guy with one punch takes all of your teeth, you know it’s bad. Then while confessing, smashes your head like a tomato. That gory sight didn’t bother me that much, but Cercei smirk got me so mad I wanted to punch my screen. All my Geoffrey hate transfered to Cercei Lannister. Tyrion’s face expressed everything that should be expressed in that situation….. disbelief.
This episode was an amazing one. I like it, and it got that Game of Thrones shocking moment that makes the show what it is. I’m giving it a good 9/10.
